Antwerp Stadspark is located between the elegant avenues of Rubenslei, Van Eycklei and Quinten Matsijslei, named after the three famous artists. In this area of Antwerp, there are many high-class hotels and exclusive restaurants. Antwerp Stadspark is the largest public green space in the whole of the city. Due to its immediate vicinity to Antwerp’s Jewish neighborhood, you will find many orthodox Jews praying around the pond during Rosh Hashana, which is the Jewish New Year. Plantentuin Antwerp are the famous botanical gardens of the city. First opened in the early 19th century, Antwerp’s botanical gardens have an over 200-year-long history, first as a herb garden for the nearby Saint Elisabeth hospitaland later on as landscape of great value. Today, the Plantentuin Antwerp still houses an extensive herb collection of about 2,000 species, as well as exceptional trees and flowers. Den Brandt park belongs to the famous Den Brandt Castle – a 14th century estate with outstanding garden facilities. At the time, Den Brandt Park was primarily used as a garden of pleasure for noble families in the city. Today, Den Brandt park is owned by the city of Antwerp and open to the general public everyday. The statue of dancing nymphs is especially popular with tourists and is a prime location for wedding photos. The garden itself is divided into two parts, each representative of a different style; the park in front of the castle was designed in a classic French style, whereas the part behind the castle can be seen as a traditional English garden.

The Middleheim green spot is part of an outstanding open air sculpture museum with a collection of more than 300 impressive works of art. Originally held as a temporary exhibition in 1950, the sculptures from all around the world were such a big success that the Middleheim Park was turned into a permanent exhibition space. Today, after over 60 years of collecting unique works of art, the Middleheim Park is the perfect place to go see the uniqueness of art combined with the beauty of nature. Rivierenhof is a huge park, of about 130 hectares, that is especially popular with active and sporty locals, as well as visitors who enjoy taking part in various sports activities in the midst of beautiful nature and a relaxed atmosphere. The park offers a great range of different cycle and jogging paths as well as tennis courts, basketball courts and even a miniature golf area. During the summer months, Rivierenhof park invites visitors to participate in fantastic cultural activities and enjoy live music and theater performances in its unique open-air theater.
